During my career as an artist I repeatedly had the opportunity to create commisioned music for projects by choreographers, directors, performers or fine artists.
In the early 2000s I did the sound design and music for several dance pieces by Vienna-based choreographer Milli Bitterli. Lateron I created the music for 2 pieces of Swiss choreographer Janyce Michellod, R249-178 (2009, Semper Kleine Szene Dresden) and Once Upon Time (2011, Sierre, Switzerland).
Several film scores for experimetal short films by Austrian director Mara Matuschka are also on my list of commissioned works: Plasma (2004), Comeback (2005) and Queen of the night (2006). All theses films had extensive exposure on international film festivals all over the world.
Music for theatre plays or music related forms of theatre are another interessting area to work in for a composer and musician. Amongst these are several collaborations with Austrian director Klaus Karlbauer. More recently I did participate as a live musician for a piece titled Liveration – Prometheus delivered as part of the media art series “The Future of Demonstration” in Vienna in 2017.
In 2019 Nerve Theory aka Bernhard Loibner & Tom Sherman realized a pieces titled Electric Cars and Electric Guitars. It was written, composed and recorded to run as a sound installation for Tonspur at the Museums Quarter in Vienna, Austria, from September until December 2019.
