Live in Barcelos, Portugal 2005, duet with Joao Castro Pinto
Over the past few years Bernhard Loibner has performed numerous live concerts throughout the world. He performed in places such as Chelsea Art Museum (New York), MQ (Vienna), Unsound Festival, (Krakow), Konzerthaus (Vienna), Icebox (Cape Town), HERTZ_extend #1 (Barcelos), Arsonica Festival (Seville), Ars Electronica (Linz).
For his concerts he uses (apart from various electronic gear) a laptop computer running a sound processing software called "_unfinished" he developed himself using the Max/Msp/Jitter programming environment. It enables him to do real time sound processing of computer generated sounds but also to process live input sources such as his bass guitar.
Besides his solo gigs he also performed together with other musicians e.g. in a laptop quartet with Keiko Uenishi aka o.blaat, Karlheinz Essl and Klaus Filip or with the portuguese musician Joao Castro Pinto.
Another ongoing live-collaboration is an audio-visual duet with austrian video artist Michaela Grill under name of "Duetz" Live electronic music in combination with live-video is the field this duo is operating in, with performances at Concertgebouw Brugge (Belgium) or at the Sammlung Essl Museum near Vienna.
Last but not least the long term collaboration with US video artist and writer Tom Sherman under the name of Nerve Theory has created several unique sound/video/voice performances. Their latest performance was called "H5N1" and was staged at Palace Theatre in Hamilton, NY in 2007. Other Nerve Theory performances took place in Austria and Canada in places such as Wiener Konzerthaus and at the Elektra Festival in Montreal.
